Well, tomorrow is my last day at work. I will go in stay about one hour and then leave. I am so looking forward to not working. Not sure what I will do first, probably sleep late...at least until eight o'clock, a.m.
I really want to volunteer. I have a friend named Anna and the week before Christmas, Anna, her husband, my husband and I, we deliver food baskets, toys and anything else that is needed. We get the names from a local church and go visit. Every year the Lord gives us a new experience. This year my husband spotted a "tent city" as we were driving along. We stopped found out what they needed and we and bought them food, coats, socks,,etc. There were five men living there, just trying to survive. They pick up cans for money. One gentlemen has lived there for ten years. We plan to make them an "experience" at least once a month. We have their permission to visit them.
Before we left, one gentlemen was asked if he needed anything and he replied "I have all I need." That statement got me to thinking, we all have what we need. We focus on what we want and that is what get us into trouble. I really think we all could do with less.
Anyway, everyone have a Merry Christmas and remember it is MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I love this post. Dan has told me before about this gifting ministry you all have. What a blessing! Love you guys!
